A portraitseries about persons, who faces or faced prejudices, framed in recycled type-case-drawers
The series is about prejudice against people because of their appearance, their gender, their religious or ethnic affiliation, and their age.
Where do these clichés come from and why do we have them? Within a few seconds we judge an unfamiliar person based on external signals and it is all too easy to put the wrong label on this person. I grew up in Germany and when you would quickly put a label on someone you would be told to not „put someone in a drawer“. So this is why the series is framed within old (typing-case-)drawers.

Peter Marino

Who is Peter Marino? – read here

Peter Marino (born 1949) is an American architect and his firm is based in New York City with 160 employees and offices in Philadelphia and Southampton. Marino does mostly design boutiques for high-end-fashion designers, such as Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton. Marino also is an art collector and the Peter Marino Art Foundation in Southhamton hosts 200 pieces of his collection. He is also notable for his personal fashion style, which he has called a „tattooed biker look“, but just as a „decoy“.

Beate Uhse

Who was Beate Uhse? – read here

Beate Uhse (1919-2001) was a German pilot, entrepreneur and sex pioneer.
She was one of the very few female stunt pilots in Germany in the 1930s. During World War II she ferried planes for the German Luftwaffe and after World War II she started a sex shop. The company she started, Beate Uhse AG, is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Alexander Ben Gorham, born July 5, 1977 in Stockholm, while his father is canadian and his mother comes from India. He is a perfume designer and a former professional basketball player. He is the founder of the perfume house Byredo. He is married and has two daughters.

Hanna Karlsson

Who is Hanna Karlsson? – read here

Hanna Karlsson (born abt 1977) is a Swedish dairyfarmer and blogger.
She grew up on a dairyfarm on the island Öland and took over the farm in 2006 in third generation. She runs the dairy farm herself, her husband is not involved in the farmwork. Hanna is widely known for her blogging about her daily life as a dairy farmer, which she started in 2012 during the „milk crisis“. She has got several awards, was invited to a dinner with the swedish royalties and has been part of a TV-section.

Grace Brewster Murray Hopper (1906-1992) was a computer pioneer and naval officer.
She earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Yale. Hopper became a pioneer of computer programming and developed the languages FORTRAN and COBOL. Nicknamed “Amazing Grace” by her subordinates, Hopper remained on active duty for nineteen years. She retired from the Navy as a rear admiral at the age of 79 — the oldest serving officer in the U.S. armed forces After her death she was buried with full military honors. Nonetheless, her success in a male-dominated field and in male-dominated organizations, including the U.S. Navy, was exceptional.
