FAQ – You just have a frequent asked question? Maybe you´ll find the answer HERE

But anyhow … As an artist, I spend many hours working alone in front of my easel, so it is a particular joy when I receive an email from an interested visitor to my website. A little HELLO is just as welcome as a general question.

I am happy to hear from you! 🙂

FAQ

What is your intension?

„There is one sin we must never commit and it is to humiliate another person or to allow another person to be humiliated in our presence without us screaming and shouting and protesting.“

Eliezer Wiesel 1928-2016, author, Nobel Peace Prize 1986

This is my way of screaming and shouting and protesting.

Do you do commissioned work ?

In general, I am open to artistic commissions, provided that I have time and the muse of your idea kisses me 😉

Please contact me and tell me more.

What does your workprocess looks like?

My process differs significantly depending on whether I start with a specific idea (which is always the case with my socially critical works) or not.

The inspiration for my socially critical works of art is often a current situation that people are exposed to, which was brought about by political or economic decisions. A concrete example: The changed situation of women in Afghanistan after the Taliban took power and the courageous protests of Iranian women against their conservative government were the inspiration for „The Veiled – § 1“ from the Human Rights series.

My work with an image from this series always begins with an examination of both the content of the respective article and an in-depth investigation of my source of inspiration. In the case mentioned above, I read many different sources, looked at reports from journalists on site and tried to conduct a conclusive investigation into the causes, as far as I can do so without being in the situation or the country myself. Only then do I start working on the implementation, in which the goal is determined by the material, expression, imagery, choice of colors, etc.

However, I also work in a process-driven manner, so I allow myself to be led down a new path by unforeseen and subsequent inspiration during the actual implementation. To give an example, the figurative sculpture of the man from Ölander was created by playing with the materials, in this case bleached roots, small stones, flotsam, an old piece of faux fur, etc. I only knew that it would be a man with a sheep in his arms when the materials in front of me came together to form this figure. I simply let myself be guided by the material, whose similarity in color and difference in feel interested me.

Are the Boardgame-sculptures playable?

Yes, they are. All boardgame-sculptures are built as an original boardgame and includes all needed parts and even a book of rules.

My boardgame-sculptures affects the viewer on different levels. It works by just looking at it and understanding the meaning of the subject. But if it is „used“, in the same way as the original is ment to, the viewer will get a much deeper insight and stronger feelings for the subject. A following discussion amoung all players (at best with a monitoring person beside) could help to get out the most effect of the boardgame-artworks.

Are you a social worker, curiator or a teacher – please contact me with your idéa!

Are the artworks for sale?

Yes, almost all. You can see the price in the informationspot under or beside the image of the artwork. The price is including the swedish tax (25%).

But there are some interactiv installations I do not sell to private collectors.

Please get in contact with me. 🙂
